Google Plus


        Google+ makes connecting on the web more like connecting in the real world. You can share your thoughts and pictures in your circles and strike up different conversations in the video chat that can hold up to nine people. Business can be associated with Google+. In your ‘About’ section, you can add stuff about different things. You can post about your business and new things about it or products coming out. You’ll be able to add an introduction about your business, hours of operation, a website, additional contact information, and recommended links. You decide not to add any of this information, the fields won’t be displayed on your Google+ page.                          Google+ can also be used socially. It’s similar to Facebook and you can communicate with your friends. Users can categorize their friends into different groups. For example, you can make different groups like friends, family, work, etc. You can see your friends photos and everything. You can even comment on their stuff. A negative of using Google+ socially is that people can post and comment on things that are inappropriate and could cause fights and drama. This social network can also be used for entertainment. Google+ can be similar to Twitter in a way because you can follow, but you can separate and make circles for all different types of people, like movie stars.  A negative of entertainment on Google+ isnt used as much as other social networks for entertainment.
Another thing Google+ can be used for is news. People can share and post things about things that are happening in society, which can spread very quickly. Also, people can make circles for certain news. A negative is that Google+ isn’t used much for news. Lastly, Google+ can be used recreationally. The users of this program can group together their favorite famous people. When people group them together, they can see everything that is going on in the famous peoples lives. A negative is users would not interact with them if they are using Google+ for recreational purposes.

Facebook




        Facebook is another social networking service. It has become very popular over the years and it has over 845 million active users. Many people can connect with each other on Facebook and see what’s going on with your friends. Facebook can be used for business. People can “like” a page for a certain product or business. Once the group becomes more popular, more people begin to “like” it and it gets more and more popular. When the page has many followers, the business can post new products or plans that are coming up. For example, I can “like” Apples page and be updated with their newest releases. Business can be a negative effect on Facebook because people can spread false information about the business or product. Also, new products can be released too early to customers.
        Facebook can also be used socially. On the social network, people can make their own Facebook and connect with friends. You can add old friends from high school, or you can add your current friends now. On your wall, you can post pictures and videos and post a status about what you’re doing. Also, if you are friends with someone, you can comment on their status, wall posts, or pictures. This is good to be social because you and your friends can connect and share different things with them. For example, I can request one of my friends and we can communicate with each other. This can be negative because bad things can be posted, such as a picture or comment. A bad picture or comment can start fights or can people banned from Facebook.
        Entertainment can also be on Facebook. You can “like” the pages of your favorite movie stars and singers and be updated on the latest stuff that is happening in their lives. For example, I can like a movies page and see when the release date is and all about the movie. This can be negative because bad things can be posted about the famous people and rumors can start. Another source of entertainment on Facebook is the sidebar with the games. These games can be a good way of staying entertained on Facebook. They can be a negative thing by getting negative feedback on the games. People may have different opinions about the games and can post good or bad things about the games.  News can also be on Facebook. People can post about the latest stuff that is currently happening in society. Since people can post whenever they want, the news about something can spread very quickly. For example, Kony was spread very quickly all over Facebook and everyone was informed about the situation. News on Facebook can be a negative thing because since things spread really quickly, false things or rumors can be spread. Lastly, Facebook can be used recreationally. I can add or “like” the famous persons page and see everything about them, but not interact with them. For example, I can “like” Nicki Minajs page, but not interact with her. This can be a negative thing because too much information can be posted.

Prezi

            Prezi is a different kind of way of presenting. Prezi is presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The different settings on the software makes it a fun way to explore different things connections between them. With Prezi, it keeps the audience more entertained because of the fun settings on the software. More and more people have been using Prezi for school and business presentations. The information that you put into the software is presented in frames. The user of the software then can determine the size and position of the frame. Then, you can choose the path the slide goes in. You can add videos and pictures anywhere on your project using the program. Prezi gives you many more options to make your presentation creative and fun. I have used Prezi and it works very well and makes presentations for interesting for the audience. This software would be recommended over PowerPoint and Google Docs. PowerPoint and Google docs are also very useful programs, but if you want to be more creative and fun with a presentation, Prezi would definitely be recommended. Prezi is definitely an advance in technology and if I had the choice, I would choose Prezi over PowerPoint and Google Docs.

        Twitter is a very fun, social network for people to connect to each other. Twitter can also be used for many different reasons. This network can be used for business. Twitter can connect businesses to customers and the businesses use Twitter to share information with people that are interested in new products or sales. Also, Twitter gives feedback of what the customers think and build relationships with people who are interested. It can offer easy ways to gain an audience. For example, Red Mango is a business and they can post stuff about their stuff. Business can also be affected negatively on Twitter. You could reveal too much of a certain product being produced or developed. If things that are incomplete are revealed, that can cause other businesses to compete with you and get a jump start on the same product. Also, the can try and make the product better. Another reason Twitter can be a negative effect on business is if you reveal new features, customers will think the current product they have is lacking features and have bad reviews on the product.

Twitter is also used for people to connect socially. Friends can connect with each other and keep everyone updated on the latest things they are doing. Another way to connect socially on Twitter is following famous people who keep you updated on new things going on in their lives. For example, I can follow a friend and tweet her. Connection socially to Twitter can also be a negative thing. Being obsessed with the social network could cause short attention spans and child-like desire for constant feedback on their lives. Also, constantly being on Twitter can lead to poor non-verbal skills and rewire the brain of some. Twitter can make teens and children rely on the internet and social media for certain things, or lose interest in other things that don’t involve the computer.

Entertainment can also be expressed on Twitter. People can make their own pages to keep you updated with the latest news on a certain famous person. They can keep in touch with their followers if they have an appearance somewhere or a movie coming out that would be appealing to their fans. Also, they can tell their fans about upcoming albums or things being released. For example, I can follow the Kardashians to know when they have appearances coming up. Entertainment can be negative because not everyone has a Twitter to follow the famous people they like the most.

News is another thing that is expressed on Twitter. The news can be all different types of things on the social network. People who use twitter can be instantly informed on the latest news. For example, I can follow E! News for the latest news on celebrities. A negative effect with news on Twitter is rumors or bad news can spread quickly about someone. Lastly, Twitter can be used recreationally. This means that people can follow things on Twitter that interests them. For example, I can follow a certain movie star, but I do not interact with them. A negative effect is too much information can be posted.
